Try to buy (if possible) your ammo over there and don't bring any of it home.....it makes life much easier. Ask your outfitter if he can have the ammo on hand when you get there....There are good gun and ammo shops in RSA and (I assume) other places. I now buy ammo in Port Elizabeth


What is the cost of ammo in Africa? I understand it to be quite pricey.

North of $20 per cartridge for common stuff in Zimbabwe. Embargoes are driving costs up.
