Is there a minimum muzzle velocity you would consider for a high BC bullet used for hunting, using 450 - 500 yards as the maximum distance for a shot on game? I'm specifically wondering about the 7-08.
I agree with your comments about hunters "becoming stuck", I have always had the thought that 3000 fps in 06 case and 2800 fps in a 08/57mm case were where one needed to be. The math is undeniable about the value of high ballistic coefficient, its just getting myself 'from knowing to understanding". My question about minimum muzzle velocity makes its clear I'm still somewhat stuck.
