What kind of squirrels? Good sized tree rats or the hay field ground squirrel variety? If the latter, I'd go with all the magnification and parallax adjustment one can afford. When the youngsters emerge, they are about house mouse size and quite challenging targets.
Tree rats typically larger and less challenging.
