Re: the 338F and elk, seems one of the authors, maybe Layne Simpson knocked off one with a 185 Barnes right at 310 yds. Both rounds are good to that distance if you have a decent BC to yield terminal speed on arrival. Cheap pistol bullets are an advantage of the 35 bore. Again, they make hell on water jugs at 200 yds, rivals a 6BR w/70 TNT or 220 swift
