Savage Model 99's feel proper to me and the first group from the first load I ever worked up for one shot 1.25 MOA. (.243,..100 grain Hornady RN over 40 grains of H4350)

I've owned a lot of rifles and shot even more. If anybody has ever come up with a sleeker, more efficient hunting rifle than a Savage 99,..I've not encountered it.

Dang, never thought I'd hear you say that.

Don't know why not. I own exactly one Savage 99 and with the exception of an old, clumsy Swiss K31, it's the most accurate rifle I've ever owned. But a Swiss K31 is a fairly ungainly rifle to be dragging into the hunting fields.

Maybe every Savage 99 doesn't shoot like mine. But the .243 I own is as accurate as the man shooting it.
