What do cows do for water when it's below zero? Eat snow? We have had freezes where confined cattle on salt mix feed died. We seldom have snow and our cattle can get water out of a running bayou. In December of 1983 we froze hard and water was a problem.


I dunno about Sam, but Ive gone out with a spud and broken ice many a time so cows could drink...when it gets real cold, oddly enough, they need water bad...
