I did it 14 years ago more or less. My reasons are my own, but boil down to not wanting the potential for a bastard and all the attendant bullschidt of half siblings. I had my kids, and didn't want them to have to share me if things went south with their mom. FWIW they haven't.
But to do over, I'd not do it unless my wife was in danger of dying were she to become pregnant. Was an easy in and out procedure, but anybody tells you they're the same after as before are lying or didn't have much to start with.
