I’ve been quoted 1500$, 750$ and 85$ an hour to inlet a stock I’ve already had duplicated to a pattern and semi inletted. The blank was 350$ the duplicating was another 300$ but man the inletting cost is crazy. At these costs starting from scratch with a blank would be 10 grand? And this is for a Mauser with a sporter contour barell not stocking a double rifle or some overly complicated or rare action type. I’d also add that these prices are inletting only exterior shaping will still need to be done and if a glass bedded action is wanted throw another 250$ on the quoted prices?
