My understanding is that Americans don't own their companies in chinksville, they are partnerships. As such the products they produce belongs to the chinese.
There are no such things as private property rights in China.
The company I work for spent half a billion dollars building a large facility in China. It was understood from the get go that they do not own it, the Chinese government does. If something is physically located in China, whether it's a building, medical equipment, medical supplies, or YOU then the Chinese government will take it if they want to and there is absolutely nothing that you can do about it other than beg for it back.
That's just the way communism works. If they weren't that way then they wouldn't be communist.
