in these parts, all the Walmarts pulled all the guns and ammo off the shelf do to the threat of looting. Co-worker went in one of the local Walmarts and asked about buying some ammo. The guy working the counter asked what he wanted and took a few minutes and went in the back of the store, found the ammo and sold it to him. Co-worker was told that the guns and ammo were all stored in a secure place in the back of the store until the threat of looting was over.
From what I've read, lots of Walmarts have done the same.
