Looks like we will have missed the window for Fall colors in the Black Hills. We now understand why the available and desirable lodging was booked up until October 10.
We are now looking at options a little further south. I'm thinking there are good places in eastern Arizona, maybe New Mexico. Also considering trekking further from DFW to someplace like Colorado, Utah, maybe Wyoming. The wife wants to see something other than Aspen turning gold and I can't blame her for that. I'm looking for a locale and timeframe recommendations.
