For leaves turning color, I'd head east instead....
The Smokey Mountains in the Fall, or up into VA, KY, over to NC...
The further north ya go the better and earlier the colors change...
the most gorgeous place to see in the fall in the USA is Vermont and Northern New York...with the quaint towns etc..
New Hampshire and Maine with a close second...Pennsylvania has a lot to see also...
but the prettiest of all, is Quebec....for a variety of reasons...
