at 1X with both eyes open, the rifle up to your shoulder, bright illuminated reticle and based on some personal research the gun is fairly fast if your actually aiming to hit the target at 10-25 yards, I am not good enough to be able to tell the difference in speed between an aimpoint or a 1-X. I am sure people that shoot competition will be able to tell. What makes the biggest difference to me, is rested fire at 100 or more yards, the 4 or 6 X side of the device is much more useful than an aimpoint and at the prices of new aimpoints forget them.
