On the really important issues like Obamacare Roberts has sided with the leftists. He's certainly not been a reliable conservative vote. I've heard it said that the reason no major second amendment cases have been brought before the court since Heller is because of Roberts leftist tendencies, we don't want him to rule with the left and set a precedence against the second.
When Barrett gets seated maybe we'll finally be able to get a decisive second amendment case that will strike down most of these unconstitutional gun control laws.

I too think Roberts is the reason no Second Ammendment cases have been considered by the Sulreme Court, but how will Thomas become Chief Justice?
