If Trump wins and the Senate holds Republican they got 3 years or so to retire and be replaced with a younger conservative for the upcoming decades. Considering the shift of younger voters to the left and socialism, I’d say you’re spot on. But once the leftist get power, they’ll fix it so it will never swing back, at least through ballots.
If Roberts has been turned (likely), his handlers won’t allow him to step down. Looks like we’re still stuck at 5/4 barring unforeseen circumstances.
