That depends on where you hunt !
It AIN'T over here 4 sure.
Way better deer hunting here now than 50 years ago. Not so in northern NH and Maine, where the best hunting was more than 30 years ago.
YES, Way better here also. In the 1960s deer were SCARCE, rarely even seeing a track.
Too many pessimists here.
