When I took drivers ed nearly 30 years ago it was still done at the high school and taught by teachers mostly during the summer. There was fee but it wasn’t a whole lot. Book work, simulators inside of some trailers and three kids to a car driving with an instructor. Now it’s all taught through private driving schools.
Getting a DL and being able to ride around and chase girls and whatnot was huge. I agree that overall kids today seem to care less and do more on there phone compared to driving around looking for the party spots ect. like we did when I was that age.
