Metal barrels sweat. Use plastic. Buy livestock feed quality by the bag. Store it at the feed & seed until time to go to fill a feeder.
I shoot deer off feeders here at home. There is no reason for deer to be on this property other than to visit a feeder. It's not really hunting, but it does fill the freezer and means fewer deer on the roads we drive most.
