The way the Delta variant is just tearing thru communities, some virologists believe that we'll peak before the end of October and while still a threat, the strain on the system will be relieved and we'll see flu like levels of Covid where is just an annoyance. People will still die from it unfortunately as they do with the flu but reasonable precautions should keep it at bay.
I'm hoping they are right. Another article I read predicted spring of 2023. If that's the case this country will be in shambles.
The Spanish flu burned out after a 3rd wave around November IIRC from the doc I watched on it. Not because of masks or social distancing but because it had no one else to infect.
