Simple fact is gov't is not interested in saving lives or reducing crime with their anti gun, public safety charade. It is about disarming the public. The gov't has no intention of doing anything about gun related crime. In fact it would be to their advantage for gun crime to escalate thus falsely justifying more anti gun legislation. Gov't is taking advantage of public ignorance in the matter and creating irrational fear. The reason they are doing/allowing this is because the gov't is not scared of criminals and their illegal guns but rather they are scared of an overall armed public in the event of revolution where the people could take up arms against the gov't. Gov't would really like to be rid of general gun ownership before implementing some of the global, socialist/communist agenda that is coming down the pipe.
