I used to carry a short 3/4" diameter piece of rebar wrapped in athletic tape when I was in High School, in case I had to wail on someone. Never had to put it to use, but I came close once - the messikan I was preparing to fight came at me with one of those de-brainers like the one posted above so I backed off.
In high school I carried a rail road spike in my coat pocket and a wagon wheel spoke in my book bag.
Some of you might actually know from whom I got the idea for the wagon wheel spoke.
Would it have been Elmer Keith by any chance that provided the idea for the wagon spoke? Did you have the local blacksmith drill a hole in the end of it to run a string through?? LOL
