Just got this 300 99EG from a member here. It has a case hardened rotor. The serial number is 6832xx. My 99R in 250-3000 is 6984xx and has a brass rotor. Does this narrow down the last of the cased rotors and the change back to brass rotors? Two questions come to mind. 1. The 250-3000 were much lower production and maybe there were enough left over brass rotors that it wasn't necessary to use the cased rotor? 2. The more expensive 99R may have continued to have a brass rotor? Does anyone know of a cased or other steel rotor in a 250-3000 or a 99R with a cased or steel rotor?
Some pics of the cased rotor.
