Was just sent a clip from youtube of a couple that owned a logging company. He'd been logging since he was 11, had been in business on his own for 37 years, and they were hanging it up due to fuel prices.

Said when he started, his rule of thumb was 25% went to fuel, 25% went to the driver, and the other 50% went to the truck payment, maintenance, insurance and his living.

Said now he is at 70% for the fuel, driver getting 30%. Leaving nothing for putting back in the business or to make his living.

Result, he's shutting down his operation and retiring.
