The M-4 is a great close up easy to carry room clearing rifle. It has it's place. It was no good for the long distance shots required in Afghanistan. I would like to think the long distance ballistics of the new 6.8 would be good for the distance shots but I wonder how good it is as an assault rifle in a room clearing operation ? That 80,000 lbs of pressure has to be hard on bolts and barrels. A guy doesn't want to forget his ear plugs. That much pressure escaping a short barrel has to be brutal on the ears. Just my thoughts.
