For what?

Trying to pick a tool requires knowing the job to use it in.

Think of a gun as a hammer.
There are reasons ball pine come in so many weights.
Reasons for a 3#drilling hammer instead of a sledge.

Our military is always persuing the perfect equipment for the last battle.
Understandable. The guys choosing want to get the stuff they wished they had.

But, that doesn't help in the next situation.

We went into the Gulf war with small arms from Vietnam and heavy equipment designed to fight in Europe.

I'd be willing to bet that in a future war, those M4s will be drug out and
used.

The focus on what you don't have or somethings shortcomings overlooks it's successes.

Yak, yak, yak, about long distance in Afganistan.
Sure, it was a thing.
But talk to the guys operating in the urban environments.
The door kickers who engaged in firefights inside small buildings.
Ask if they would have preferred a bigger, heavier, lower capacity, louder,
harder recoiling weapon?

You won't find one that is great everywhere/every time.

Parents who say they have good kids..Usually don't!
