I read about some big buck contests run by casinos in NV. I can't remember what town, could have been Reno or Vegas. Anyway, the prizes where big things like new pickups. After a few years, someone realized that year after year the winners were all in a small group of ranchers. An investigation revealed that they'd go out in the deep spring snow and rope big bucks, put them in the barn, and feed them heavily on stuff to promote big horn growth. In the fall, they'd butcher them and take them to the casinos where they'd collect their prize pickups.
