I inquired of some old timers about it, and there was a confirmed story about Board. Around 1928 he became bedridden, helpless. It befell his nephew to care for Board, which was ok for a few days but the young nephew soon got a bellyful of Board messing the bedding. In a fit of rage the nephew struck Board repeatedly in the head with an axe. The town constable arrested the nephew, tried and convicted, he lived out his days in Folsom.
