My 788 in 7-08 is by far the most accurate rifle I own. I have never shot over a 1'' group with any load and my best handloads will go 0.5" @ 100 yds for 5 shots.
Yea it's ugly, yea it's heavy, yea the clip is noisy, but when I want to shoot something small from far away it's the rifle I reach for.
