I am going to get rid of the Ruger 77/17...

but I still have the Marlin heavy barrel 17 HMR...

and also the New England Handi Rifle in 17 HMR...

I also have a none heavy barrel 22 Mag in a 77/22...

I have ordered a 17 HMR barrel for that one...

It isn't going to be a high volume cartridge for my needs...
but I have enough stuff I am not going to abandon it..

I don't see it as a high volume cartridge.. but it will fit a niche more along the lines as a long range tree squirrel getter, and maybe will try it out on a turkey or two running loose around here...

then I don't have to bitch at the ammo prices.... plus I am fond of the TNT bullets over the V Max ones...

its just a more popular round at your house than it is at mine..
but there will still be at least one in the safe.. seafire jr likes it a lot, but he isn't buying the ammo for anything he "likes a lot".....

able to switch a barrel between that and the 22 Mag in the smaller packaged 77 Rimfire, it suddenly has a place...
