I have a 1:9 that really likes the Federal Blue Box 64 grainers: �" groups at 100 yards.

My only on-game experience with 'em was last March on a < 100 lb. hog at 110-120 yards: a pass-through with an exit hole maybe 2� to 3x bullet diameter. She went down pretty quick. And so did the loins, hams, and sausage!

For deer hunting, I'd sooner grab my 7x57. But if I was holding the .223 and a nice buck presented himself inside 200 yards... yeah, I'd take a poke at him.
