just out of curiosity, why is it that many people feel comfortable shooting hogs with 22's and not deer? They are general in the same size catagory and in my limited experience with hogs, they are constructed much heavier than any deer? shouldn't the argument be the other way around? Or is it that people don't care about hogs?

I have no problem shoot deer with a 223.
