I don't think that the rifles themselves were famous but since I used to really enjoy their writing there are two that would make my list. Erwin Bauer's 243 and his use of it on deer, back when it was considered too small, would be one. His writing inspired me to purchase and find out for myself that you can really get it done with that small cartridge. Jim Carmichel was IMHO another great gunwriter and he loved the 280, even though the public seemed to have no love for it, so one of his 280's would be something special to me. Because of my love of hunting and guns ALL of my fathers, grandfathers, wife's father, and wife's grandfathers guns are now in my possession. They are all special to me and are earning a place in my grandsons heart.
