I too noticed that The XCR II"s are very light, My 30.06 with Leupold VX3 3.5-10x40 in Talley lightweights with an Uncle Mike's mountain sling weighs 7.72 lbs on a certified scale, My XCR II 7mm Mag outfitted exactly the same weighs 8.03 lbs. I don't know why but these rifles are considerably lighter than Remington's notoriously accurate spec sheet has them listed(laughing)............Hb
