I finally broke down and bought one a few months ago, one of the best purchases I've ever made. Like others said, its not only about the long ice life. They are built about 50 times better than any other cooler I've ever owned, and I've owned a BUNCH, including the best igloo and coleman make.
This one stays in the bed of my truck, back when it was 100+ deg. every day I was still only putting ice in it about every 3 days. and that was with multiple openings every day for water, sodas, or "adult beverage".
