prices are inflated on the internet site for sure
and what some people say the %condition is of their gun is a pipe dream on their part
i had 2 .308 100,s thru out the years and like a fool i sold both
both were purchased from private parties in 95-98% condition wood and metal
i got one in colorado springs in 1985 a post 64 with pressed checkering for 300 dollars of a desperate guy that wanted beer money to go to the bar aweek after payday
most single soldiers are basically broke within one week of payday
(i dont even think old dude got laid after the bar either)
sold that one at ft hood tx in 1989 for 350
then i got another from a guy in kentucky in 1994 a pre 64 with a factory polished bolt with paperwork for 450 and it was the original owner that sold that to me
sold it like a fool in 1999 for 500 in maine to freind who had an itch he had to scratch
gunbroker and gunsamerica prices are at least 100-150 more than book values and the conditions as said by sellers on their are not what they really are per book description let alone values.
i wish i could get a .308 100 again
