Can you give details on shot placement and impact velocity?
150 TTSX (Blue Plastic Tip), 308 Win (1-10"), 2,840 MV, impact at IIRC, around 140-170 yards. Bullet didn't open and tumbled on impact. Was found backwards on the off side. Bullet hit nothing on its flight.
I have no doubt that expanding mono's generally work well enough (I've used the 168 TSX to good effect), but strange thing do happen with them, just like their frangible hollow point brethren. After all, the expanding mono's rely on a small hollowpoint for expansion, and anyone that's used hollowpoints knows they're prone to weird behavior more often than bullets that rely on a lead tip to initiate expansion.
