I do not know that "everyone" is enamoured with air guns. I am.
I like the added sense of independence from the marketplace that accurate, powerful air guns provide for me.
Note: for many, the idea of an air gun is forever tied to that Daisy Red Ryder that they had as a kid. The connection is that an air gun is a toy.
Modern Airguns have moved way past that.
My most accurate pistol is an air pistol, a Feinwerkbau target pistol that my wife gave to me as a present many years ago....it cost as much as my Gold Cup.
It will put five shots through the same hole at match distance.

I have added two PCP air guns over recent years...a rifle and a pistol. The rifle is .45 caliber and shoots the same bullets that I cast for my .45-70 (though not as fast). Not your Daisy BB gun. Not $150 either.
