Posted this in the campfire ther other day, but went out Sunday afternoon to a local conservation area. "Bird" season opened in Missouri on November 1st, so just getting underway. First time actually quail hunting in several years.

Ended up with two coveys pointed and a single pointed. Three birds down with 4 shots out of the 60 year old Ithaca 37 16 gauge. Unfortunately one went down in some super thick blackberry brambles mixed with thik grass ad we couldn't find it. About made me sick.

Not bad for a couple hours hunting on public ground in an area that has been way down on quail the last 20 years.

Keep the thread going, I love bird hunting. Kansas opens this weekend, hopefully we'll find a few ditch chickens that survived the several year drought.
