Were you unable to read the words you left out, i.e., "... other than the District of Columbia, military bases, post offices and post roads, and other authorized government buildings." You included them in the quote, but your statement above was composed as if you weren't aware of them. They make all the difference in the world.


No, it's not disingenuous in the least. The Constitution does not list any of the things you mentioned in the 5th Amendment, so despite what you imagine, they make zero difference.
