Debate is over between choosing a Axis or a Ruger American.

Savage was the only company making Lefty rifles that a high school kid could afford back in the day, I like how they shoot. Really don't care what the logo looks like.

Ya'll just send me the "liberal" Savages you no longer want.

This will be like the JM stamp on Marlins. All Savage guns with an Indian Head will be worth more.

Collectors take note.

Dang, I shot a Savage rifle this afternoon and heard no Boom, all I heard was harsh language and a strongly worded letter fell out of the magazine box mad

Where's my Savage??

Vista outdoor group owns the brand along with a bunch of others including RCBS which is now selling Chinese rockchuckers. It will not surprise me when we see the savage arms become Chinese garbage too. Like Remington they are just a Wallstreet investment vehicle not a gun company at heart. It's a shame.

There are more African Americans in DC, so would Negros be offended if the team called itself the Washington Niger's?

Or, how about the Washington Spics (in honor of the Latin community that lives there).

Or, how about the Washington Kikes in honor of the Jews that live there?

Or, how about the Washington Goombahs for the Italian-Americans that live there?

Etc.,etc., etc....

Glad I only like Savage 99s! It was the beginning of the end for them when Ron Colburn left Savage!

The new logo looks stupid. It's an "S" I guess, but you wouldn't know that if you weren't told that ahead of time.

They could have picked something 'savage' to replace the Indian head, say a grizzly pic or something.

Ron Coburn was a great business man and resurrected Savage from the grave. Made himself, the employees and the shareholders $. Can't hold that against anybody.

Buy as it concerns Savage, 1960 was the beginning of the end, 1964 was the end of the end.

Since then they have been a generic brand.

Ummm- you guys realize that Savage wasn't named after Indians, right?

The Indian head came from a gift given by some Indian chief as an endorsement deal in exchange for model 99 rifles. Owner Arthur Savage then added the Indian Head to his logo in 1919.

They changed the logo. So what? The name is what most libs would go ape about.

Ron Coeburn was a really nice guy. I think after he left Savage is being run by committees of young "bucks" and "braves", excuse the pun.

well, i have to snicker.
i have had a fondness for the 1907 savage pistol partially because of that indian in the war bonnet on the grips. Guess those pistols are worth a little more money now.
