OK, you degenerates, back on topic. Did 35 minutes of intervals on the stationary bike today. Yesterday, walked a little over a mile off trail. Doesn't sound like much but it's progress when your intermediate goal is to walk normally. It sounds like a bunch of much from here. The surgery you went thru and rehab you are going thru is major. I fully expect you to hump out an Elk this fall. 😉

I'm neck deep in the new work I picked up but the weather is flat gorgeous so I did a 2/3 day and we headed to the coast late. Cyn & the mutts walked about 3.5 mile on the beach, trying to stay in the soft sand. We have that Lost Coast backpack trip imminent. I pursued the legendary and elusive Surf Perch. I foolishly didn't bring waders, just rolled up my pants, so the swells were chasin' me in and out. Calves and arches of my feet are whipped. Ain't no thing like sand for "that" kind of workout. [bleep] surf perch anyway. Bastids own my ass. On a happy note the new knots I learned- the Uni, and Double-Twist Dropper Loop- worked great and made for a "crappie rig" type dual-hook setup, but sans swivels, or ANY hardware really. I'm converting over from a light-tackle trout mentality and it's really different. Fishing for ling cod on the Pacific in February, I snagged up at one point, and I swear the 65-lb braided on my reel would've served to anchor my little boat! Crazy strong. Today I was using my 12' Ugly Stik and a spinning reel with 20-lb braided and a 2-oz sinker and while I could cast it a MILE, the dang beach was so flat that I couldn't really get out to the big surf without getting chased in by the big waves. Failure hurts. I won't lie. But know this. I WILL conquer the legendary [bleep] Surf Perch.

went to the gym yesterday evening, Wendler week 18: squats 3/3/3+/10 70%, bench 3/3/3+/10 70%, pull-ups 3x11, dips 3x35, core the 3+ sets were a little rough, managed to get 5 reps with both, but the last rep wasn’t pretty!

Cyn and I did a fairly intense (steep) 4-5 miler today. It was basically a part of a conditioning/ long range shooting loop route on BLM I'd figured out years ago... put in steel plates, etc. However it no longer functions as a loop due to logging, so we just sorta did half of it then headed back.
I'll say this. Around here, if you're someone who gets out in the woods and finds your cool secret spots in mature timber... chanterelle patches, unofficial trails, huge cedars, waterfalls, etc (all of which this loop had)........... don't get too attached to it. All made up. LMAO
Camp is where you make it.

I ran the steps up Old Main for an hour; 123 steps for 23 rounds. Boring GPS map but a pretty day.

Did upper body today. A couple of guys got a look at the guns and accused me of using steroids. But all the women who were gathered 'round said "who cares!!"

2 miles with the pups and 4 miles on the Tiburon hills. Recovering from foot & ankle surgery. As of this morning have lost 40 pounds that I should have never gained. Not carrying that extra bullsh*t around makes going uphill a lot easier.

You're just jealous. I get that a lot from old bald guys.
