That sounds great! I bet one would get close to 3200 with a 22" barrel.

All of them do something better than the 30-06, but none of them do everything as well.

Been using the various 4831s for 55 years but a friend recently tipped me off to RL16. I loaded two rounds of 130TTSX each from 52 grs to 55 grs in 1/2gr increments and tried a ladder at 200 yards. All rounds fell within 1.5" with no discernible elevation difference. I had loaded 4 extra max loads at 55 grs and moved to 100 yards. Three shots were .265 and the 4th shot I hung my crono on the barrel and it was off a 1/2". Crono was 3160fps.
Primers were Federal Magnum and brass is Nosler. The TTSX was seated to mid of top groove.
I'm going out this afternoon to see if this is dumb luck or repeatable.

The load I listed is right out of the Barnes manual. 59.5grs Rel 19 with the Barnes 130gr TSX gave them 3211fps from their 24"Bbl. The same load with the 129 LRX gave me 3259 from my 24" Bbl. Absolutely no pressure signs. Primers on fired cases still had rounded edges. Cases fired 6 times still had snug primer pockets. Obviously well with in pressure limits & a load right out of the book.

VernAK, is there any certain reason that you chose to use magnum primers? I'm anxious to see if your results repeat themselves. Thanks, Scott.

I went to the 110g ttsx, amazing accuracy.
58g of Win 760 at 3400; 9 1/2
56-57g of R#17, Fed 215; 3375 fps
H4350 had amazing accuracy at 3350
All bullets seated .050 off the lands.
100 yd groups are .400 with the Win 760 and .625 with R#17.
I sight in at 200 and at 300, drop is so little you think that you are shooting a 220 swift.
No bucks have stopped this bullet yet.

Archer, I used the magnum primers only because I had some brass already primed for loading Hammer Bullets as they recommend. Usually I never use magnum primers for lighter cartridges. Yesterday I loaded last 4 bullets ]130TTSX] that I had and ran them all over the crono ....3199-3211.......more bullets to arrive today and will load with 210M primers.

I'll have to get some RL16 and give it a try. I already have a box of 130 TTSX. Thanks again.

130gr Federal Trophy Bonded Tip with 54gr of IMR 4350. Haven’t chronographed it, but it shoots under an inch. Only killed one deer with this load so far but it blew right through, left a great blood trail and a very quick kill.

No bucks have stopped this bullet yet. I'm going to try these in my daughter's rifle for her mule deer hunt. Sounds like you are having good luck with tnem.

130 TTSX or 129 LRX R17 52.5 to 54.0 Goes 3100+- Very accurate
For very low recoil use H4895 and 110 TTSX. Like shooting a Daisy Red Ryder BB gun.

Finally got to shoot on my range today. Using a factory New Haven Conn. Win. classic stainless ( CRF ) 24" bbl 270. My load again is 59.5grs Rel 19, Win LR primer, Win brass. Barnes 129gr LRX. OAL 3.02". This is a load from the Barnes manual using their 130gr TSX. MV 3259 fps in, my rifle. Shooting at an elevation of 7630'. Temp was running 38 to 40 dg. My 100yd target is actually at 108 yds due to terrain. Once sighted in at about 1 1/2" high two three shot groups were fired .Both were near identical with 3/4" horizontal & 1/2" vertical spread... Well under 1". At my 200yd target about 1" high dead center. . At 300 about 2" low. Not able at this time to shoot farther. All in all I am very satisfied with the results.

My chrono is a "Caldwell " Ballistic Precision chronograph. It's new because I shot my old chrono, right thru the middle of it.. Lots of pieces.. I never use alcohol , so no I was not drinking. When the snow melts back a bit more I will be able to use more of my range for longer shots.
