Is there something to be ashamed of if you're that kind of hunter? If I were SWAG'ing it, I bet 85% + fall into this category of hunters every year, with millions of deer killed.
I would say it's probably more than that. Go to a range in October or November. It's full of guys that just pulled their rifle out for the first time in 50 weeks.
Camp is where you make it.

I've using Leopold scopes for 50yrs almost exclusively, usually vari-111's, 2 went back for minor problems. Currently using a 2.5x8 vari-111, 2.5x10 vari-111, a vxr 1x6 patrol, an xd5 1x5 and a 2x7 vari-11 on grandsons rifle. Very happy with all of them.
