Irony is that the US pushed the hardest for their inclusion into NATO.

Sell Turkey an F35 and it will be in Russia within months, if not weeks. Word.

Irony is that the US pushed the hardest for their inclusion into NATO. The ONLY reason we wanted Turkey in NATO was so we could have access to their territory overlooking the Black Sea to set up LP/OPs for intercepting Soviet electronic intelligence. Having them in NATO "obligated" them into allowing partner nations to set up intel gathering sites on their soil without having to go through a complicated diplomatic and possibly unsuccessful treaty process. Turks are just another breed of sleazy muzzies. Fugg them too... Yup. They are devolving to the level of the rest of the Muzz trash. You can only put on and maintain an act for so long. Sooner or later your true colors show through. Islam is a totalitarian political and economic system that has to be implemented and maintained by force.

I work with Turks on a daily basis and the base I am working on for a few more days is ran by Turkey. I trust them about as far as I can throw them, at least their military members. Some of the civilians are ok, but get down to it and 95% are going to side with the Turkish government. Erdogan has made Turkey take two steps backwards not forwards. Most of the people I work with that are Turks will tell you one on one they can't stand him, but in a crowd they will not. I have to agree Ataturk would be upset with how Turkey is going.
What befuddles my mind more, NATO allowed Turkey to build a mosque on base and they are constantly sending out emails to give tours, etc.. If the other religions on base did that, all hell would break loose.

Many years ago trained with Turks and had same opinion. One on one ok but once they get into a group they’ll choose their Muslim identity (not pro western) over friendship. I always had an uneasy feeling around them. The Kurds would go to hill and back with you. Thanks for your input Hudge Do you think we are still forced to maintain military bases in Turkey? Turkey going western didn't work. Invited to the dance, they went to a few............just stood back and watched the other guys get the girl.
By trading the dance hall for a goat farm, they get to be maximus pussimus gettimus.

We needed them to contain the USSR. We don't need them anymore. I noticed you leftist sons of biches were okay with them when they were the communist Soviet Union. Now that Russia is a nationalist, anti-globalist, populist and a more capitalist-than-not nation that is rediscovering and recovering it's Christian past, y'all don't seem to like them the same anymore. It's as if your ideologies have had a falling out of sorts.

Erdogan is a potential really big problem Yep. Turkey moved a substantial way towards another Muslim stronghold when the attempted coup failed a couple years ago as the usual attempt to return Turkey to secularism. The following purge in their (very pro-western) military has pretty much set Turkey back a few decades. Shame, I've spent a lot of time there and found it to be filled with very nice people who just want the best for their families. Ataturk would be ashamed of what it has become. Yes. Ataturk would hang all the Islamists.
