I remember being cautioned against wearing rings in shop in school and again in AIT in the service. I lost a wedding ring in Yakima Firing Center. Slipped off with my gloves. The only jewelry I wear now is a wrist watch. 7mm

Broke the stone outta mine and took it to a jeweler to replace the stone. Jeweler somehow managed to lose my class ring (no clue...). He made it right by making a custom ring for wife #1, which she kept when we split.
Still have mine, with my ex girlfriends initials scratched on the inside of it. Yearbooks on the shelf, youngest kid needed a reference to figure out what to wear for “80’s Day” at school.
High School is (or should be) some of the most fun you have in your life. It’s all work after that...
Mine flew off my finger when I lost my balance going down a bank to an irrigation canal in eastern Washington. Weather was cold and fingers probably shrunk a little in the cold. Too deep, too wide and too cold to go swimming for it. That was 35+ years ago.
Chronographs, bore scopes and pattern boards have broke a lot of hearts.
I made my quit high school ring out of a spoon handle .made my first wedding ring out of a hambone .made my last wedding ring out of a deer horn . when I was a kid my uncle tore his ring finger off working on a airplane wing he slid off and the ring got hung up . In my first real job I saw a guy short out a 24volt starter with his wedding ring when he pulled his hand off of it the meat came off his finger to the bone . I just about lost my lunch
Wife and I each have our wedding rings tattooed on our fingers. 😳. Not for the newlyweds mind you.
Within a month caught my wedding ring on a screw and came damn close to skinning my finger. Wedding ring came off never wore it again as it was now a bit oblong and torn a bit where the screw caught it.
I like the tattoo, but as said it’s not for everybody. Tis only tat I have, liked to ask the kids, you think it makes me look like a biker ? 🤦🏼♂️😂
No rings for me, didn't bother buying a wedding ring.
My dad got his ring finger messed up wearing his wedding ring at work, broken finger and a bunch of stitches. My BIL has somewhat of a permanent band, skin graft where he touched his ring to a car battery terminal and it heat fused the ring to his finger. Rings and any other jewelry are dangerous when working. I don't even have a watch.
Until this thread, I was unaware that high schools made [graduation??] class rings available.
With specific exceptions, I agree that men's jewelry are best limited to wrist or pocket watch and wedding band. Exceptions include rings showing special excellence - usually by way of a sport. Examples include World Series and Super Bowl victors, NCAA national champion or national championship rings, et al.
In my case When not wearing my Omega Submariner Omegamatic ® wrist watch, I wear my grandfather's exquisite Elgin gold Hunter pocket watch. Wedding band is no longer relevant. But I always wear my NCAA national championship ring.
