He shot a large buck and needed both hands to drag it out so he laid his 30-30 against a sagebrush to come back for it. He couldn't find it. Forward 30 years...he was hunting in the same area and there it was, still leaning against the sagebrush. The summers in sage country are pretty sunny and there's lots of UV.
