Bought some at Costco a while back and something just isn't right . . .
Too much of something I'm thinking, but I can not figure out what. Too salty for sure.
I like me some good kin chi I have had some that was "fishier" than I liked.

Ya’ll need to let this thread die.
I had Kim chi a couple times and it was Ok, then ... THEN someone gave me some with rotten fish (I mean pickeled) it without telling me...
Suprise - Almost up-chucked trying to spit it out ... GAWD awful.

I made this colard green kimchi a few months ago and it's pretty good.... https://gardenandgun.com/recipe/collard-kimchi/I couldn't find the shrimp/paste so I used some sardines instead. The longer the jars sit the better it gets!

lived in korea for a year. i could eat the fresh stuff but once it started working i could not stomach it. my one yobo used to pack it in a big glass jar and just leave it in the corner. every meal was a pile of commissary rice and kimchi. cheap and healthy but stanky as hell.
