I actually don't know why we are not, as a country, throwing everything at this. Trump is on board, it all looks good to me.
I have $100K cash sitting on the sidelines, plus a BUNCH of profit from shorting oil the last month. Data is limited (~40 person trials, anecdotal info from enemy countries) but I was surprised Trump went there so quickly, and the first sign that it is effective I will have my finger on the pulse of the market.
It won't kill the spike, and it won't eliminate the overload of our healthcare system, but if it is for real, the second the market realizes we dodged another depression, I already have my plan in place!
Good buying opp, especially if Trump is re-elected.

If this is more dangerous than the flu explain why the U.S. flu death numbers estimated at 10,000 compared to 260 Corona deaths.
It is disingenuous to compare fatalities of a disease that is still building momentum to anything else. I am more than a little disappointed to have to explain what should be painfully obvious to you.

I was fishing (breaking in new fly rod, did OK), did a bit of yard work, and summer-ized the motorhome so I can work remote from the mountains. So yea, I haven't been posting. But I'll play along with the CJG, because I am between a happy hour drink and dinner. I've been clear and transparent in my assessment of the situation, and I have been on the record as being a) concerned at first when science didn't know what to expect, b) supportive of some responses, such as canceling 100,000 fan sporting events, and c) completely supportive of easing restrictions once we started to learn the realities of the virus. Incidentally, pretty much the same position as DocRocket ended up having, you you slap on the back. The difference between you and me? You care a WHOLE LOT what others think and say. Me, I could give 2 chits what you or your merry band of idiots think or say, because I can think for myself. No go walk your daughter down to the park and lick some swingset seats.

And yes, 3.5 million is a valid expectation, possibly conservative, if we do not get a handle on this thing soon. That is 1% of US population. The very similar H1N1 pandemic of 1918 killed 2% of the world population.
It is a very potentially devastating situation deserving of very strong response measures, which has been my only point for the last three weeks since I initially stated this situation was far worse than 9-11.
A possible treatment in quinine and Zithromax is a ray of sunshine. I surely hope it can prove curative and prove me wrong in all my predictions.
