Guys who like stories of great hardship and trial by ordeal may enjoy a Polish made film "The Way Back". A group of prisoners escape one of Stalin's gulags and travel, on foot, 4,000 miles south to India around 1942. Not your usual mass market Hollywood crap. Agreed it’s a great movie. The book was even better. It’s one of those books/movies I wish I could watch again for the first time. Yep, good movie. Watched a Russian tank movie, you know that one, not T34, last night and liked it.

For something light hearted and short episodes, Netflix " Kim's Convenience" is pretty funny. It's about a Korean Family running a Convenience store in Canada. The old guy is a conservative and funny as hell.
If you have Hulu, Letterkenny is good.

Just starting watch season 1 of Fortitude.
It took 5 episodes before it got into the real good stuff.
Feels like watching a good Stephen King book.
Love the German school teacher who is a “Feeder” to his fat girlfriend - Creepy show!

We watch some foreign series that are good, I can't hear good enough on any show so am used to CC, reading the dialogue isn't an issue, my wife is used to it since I've needed it for quite awhile.
Anyway, Netflix... 'Better than Us' is a Russian series just released, so season 1. Really good writing and acting, one of the best things I've seen in awhile, hope there's a season two.

Last good movie I saw on Netflix was Extraction with Chris Hemsworth. 3.5 ⭐️

Hannibal, the series on Netflix. Pretty weird but quality writing and production. Probably not best watched at dinner or by the squeamish.

After they made anne of green gables (wife's childhood classic - she watched, I surfed here) a fuzz bumped, I said [bleep] netflix.
Jack Ryan season one and two is pretty good. Hunt around and you can stream it free from 3rd party sites.

Watched The Old Guard on Netflix last night. A band of immortals who have lived a very long time try to do good in the world but the modern generic villain - big business - wants to put an end to that for selfish monetary reasons.
Typical ballet of violence fight scenes with women kicking major ass against large men willing to move and react slowly, and the guys kick butt also, I guess for a facsimile of fairness. Lots of Glock-fu, MMA-fu, battle axe-fu and sword-fu. No naked breasts but a couple of down shirt scenes. There is the de rigueur faggotry in everything Netflix related so be warned there. Much of the movie is taken up with dozens of black suited anonymous goons stylishly massacred with nary a care - apparently body armor is useless against 9mm's. Marines will recognize a big gaffe by the screenwriters early in the movie.
But it stars Charlize Theron, so, you know, Charlize Theron. Not a great movie but not a bad way to spend two hours.
Gunnery, gunnery, gunnery.
Hit the target, all else is twaddle!
