Watched The Old Guard on Netflix last night. A band of immortals who have lived a very long time try to do good in the world but the modern generic villain - big business - wants to put an end to that for selfish monetary reasons.
Typical ballet of violence fight scenes with women kicking major ass against large men willing to move and react slowly, and the guys kick butt also, I guess for a facsimile of fairness. Lots of Glock-fu, MMA-fu, battle axe-fu and sword-fu. No naked breasts but a couple of down shirt scenes. There is the de rigueur faggotry in everything Netflix related so be warned there. Much of the movie is taken up with dozens of black suited anonymous goons stylishly massacred with nary a care - apparently body armor is useless against 9mm's. Marines will recognize a big gaffe by the screenwriters early in the movie.
But it stars Charlize Theron, so, you know, Charlize Theron. Not a great movie but not a bad way to spend two hours.
Gunnery, gunnery, gunnery. Hit the target, all else is twaddle!
